well, it sometimes depends on age. if u just started your period for the first time it takes a while for the body to adjust to the menstruation cycle. or if you are older you could be getting metapause and your period is wacky.

AnswerIt is a very good and often asked question! I can't exactly give you an answer, but I can tell you I went through it and why. Through my late twenties early thirties I had my period every two weeks. I put two and two together and figured it came from being on the Birth Control pill. I did see my dotor and a gynochologist, both said it was normal and not the pill. I dealt with it, so did my partner, not fun, I know. Then we decided to try for children. I went off the pill and boom! Even since then my period has been normal! If this has any simularity to you, then hopefully it helps. If not, sorry, I hope you do find out. If you do go off the pill, stick to a condom! Believe me, they are a lot more enjoyable!

Hormones or stress can cause this. If it re-occurs readdress this issue with your physician.

It is your body's way of preparing for your period. The cramping should only happen at least two or three days before you start your period. If you don't start, it may have been your body releasing an egg. The spotting, is very normal. Again, your body is preparing for your period.
