"Mint" can have a few different meanings. It can refer to a plant often used for flavoring or a place where coins are produced. It can also describe something that is in pristine condition or freshly made, like mint condition.

Minted describes the process by which a coin is made. A (rough) synonym is struck.
Coins only are minted. All US paper currency is printed at one of two places. One place is Ft. Worth Texas the other place is Washington DC.

Mint state means a coin in the same condition as it was when released by the mint that struck it.

On an US coin it can mean "cents" or it can be the mint mark of the Charlotte Mint, which existed only from 1838 to 1861.
Mint condition, Mint State, & Uncirculated all mean the same thing. Unused, no wear, as in the same condition as from the Mint when the coin was struck.
US Coins with no mint mark were minted at the US Mint's main facility in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
'Mint' was used a lot in the North West when I was growning up in the 80s. It means 'perfect' - as in 'mint' condition.
An "S" mintmark just means that the coin was made in the San Fransisco Mint.
No mint mark indicates that the coin was minted in Philadelphia.
