Salivary Glands performs Chemical Digestion
Saliva lubricates the food for mechanical digestion of of food. That is mastication.
Teeth are used to break food down into smaller pieces so that the food has more surface area. This is mechanical digestion since food is not changed in any way except for size.
mechanical
I'm assuming it is digestion. I'm on the same question in this science packet at the moment :P
Chemical digestion.
Yes cake is a chemical change becaus it has a realse of gas as it bakes. That's why there is little holes.
Chemical Digestion is where your stomach dissolves the food in your mouth by saliva, or when the enzymes and bile break it down in the stomach.Mechanical Digestion is when you chew the food using your teeth, and when your esophagus swallows the food using peristalsis.
I don't think of it as an organ, but chemical digestion of starch begins in the mouth, using saliva.
teeth
Mechanical and chemical digestion. In mechanical digestion the teeth breakdown food into smaller pieces and in chemical digestion the salivary glands breaks down the food molecules.
mechanical digestion is with your teeth , chemical digestion is in your stomach and small intestine.
Mechanical digestion chops the food in to smaller pieces, thus exposing more of it to the enzymes of the chemical digestion.Mechanical digestion begins in the mouth by the teeth, tongue and saliva. Mechanical digestion is important for chemical digestion because when food is broken down into smaller particles by mechanical means, chemical digestion will be more efficient.
Chemical digestion uses enzymes and other chemicals to break the bonds in food. Mechanical digestion is basically the teeth grinding the food into physically smaller pieces.
Teeth
Digestion begins in the mouth right after ingestion. There is mechanical and chemical digestion. Your teeth breaks up the food into smaller pieces (mechanical digestion) and your saliva contains salivary amylase which digests starch into maltose (chemical digestion).
Chemical digestion
Chemical digestion and mechanical digestion
does absorption occur when mechanical or chemical digestion
Saliva begins the chemical digestion of starch. It also is important for the success of mechanical digestion of the mouth, but does not, in its own, perform mechanical digestion.
Mechanical and chemical digestion are not the same.
