I'll try my best to answer your question. My son has collected about 7 or 8 snails that we keep in a big plastic container. I see it on the sides of the container ( and unfortunately one of them pooped on my son's hand lol). It looks like a thin line in the shape of a coil, or line depending on how or what way they are moving. I hope this makes some kind of sense to you. Too bad I can't show you a pic lol.
Snail Scat looks like small (like half the size of a pea small), sticky, moist globs of dirt. Usually consisting of a least some mass, can also be smeared into a small trail or somewhat watery in consistency depending the moistness of the Snail, & amount of fungi vs. soil diet (soil or dirt being the staple) consumed at time of discharge.
After a stream of rainy days here in the North Eastern part of the Midwest in mid June , I was able to observe several slugs that made their way into our screened in porch from the outside via some grooves in the vinyl siding. Our floor is AstroTurf so near the screen windows it holds enough moisture to their liking & we could watch them crawl from it up the white siding planks to the screens, where the water would run down & they could be sprinkled on, and then crawl down and disappear back into the grooves.
During their little "shower" journeys to the top, which mind you for these little guys, would take about half an hour, there were bound to be some pit stops, needless to say when the weather finally passes we have a poo filled white wall to clean!
Primarily nocturnal, we saw the most Snail activities between midnight & 4AM. None of the snails we encountered were larger than 2 inches at full stretch and were all fairly light brown to orange in color. However we have seen much longer, larger and darker fellows outside in the garden, but none have ventured "in" as of yet.
snail poo is the colour of their shell. snails get vitamin and fibres from their shell, so if they have a red shell, green shell, white shell, its red poop green poop or white poop, and lots of others. its mostly brown because most shells are brown.
