The Atomic Number tells us the position of the element in the Periodic Table.

It also tells us the number of protons and electrons in an atom of that element.

The Atomic Mass/Weight is different. The Atomic Mass is the total numbers of nucleons ( protons and neutrons) in the nucleus of an atom.

For a given element the atomic mass can vary. This is because the nucleus may have a different number of neutrons. These different masses of a given element are named 'Isotopes'.

The atomic number is the number that tells you how many protons and electrons are in an atom of a particular element. For example:

Beryllium: Be- on the periodic table there are two numbers in the box. There is 4 and 9.01218. The 4 is the atomic number. It tells you that there are 4 protons and 4 electrons in this atom. The other number is the atomic weight. This tells you that there are 9.01218 grams of Be per 1 mole of Be. It also tells you that there are about 5 neutrons (9-4=5).

also it means the charges for like an electron

Tells the number of protons in that particular type of atom.

(And because the number of protons in an atom is the same as the number of electrons, it also tells the number of electrons.)

The atomic number (Z) is the the number of positive charges or protons in the nucleus of an atom of a given element, and therefore also the number of electrons normally surrounding the nucleus.
