Are you sure of the engine size? Should be 7mge inline six cyl. 22r wasn't offered in a 1990 cressida.
I have a 1985 cressida with a good transmission but a blown engine sitting in my hard. I live in Pensacola, FL. Call me at 850 432 3011 or email me at email@example.com ken
What Cressida engine will fit to a Toyota pickup model19
Seek around the flywheel, The Flywheel is between engine and transmission. The starter is probably under the intake like the 7MGE.

Low pressure connector is at the front of engine below front exhaust manifold behind the electric fan for the rad....
Does the speedometer work? Sounds like the electrical connector from the transmission to the PCM is either not plugged in correctly or at all.
No, its fuel injected engine
If the check engine light is on for your 1991 Toyota Cressida, that makes that some repairs need to be made to the engine. Taking the car to a certified mechanic to perform a diagnostic test can confirm if there is any issues with the engine.
It is 8-10 degree before top dead center with engine warmed to operating temp., RPM's at the proper range and the check engine connector jumped at TE1 and E1.
On top of the transmission two wire connector, one bolt holds it in place, right below the transmission mount/ battery tray.

The 1998 Buick Riviera air conditioner compressor is located in the engine compartment. The air conditioner compressor will be on the left-hand side of the engine.
Answer The flywheel is connected to the crank shaft on the engine. It has teeth on it that the starter connects to to start the engine when the starter gear is energized. After the flywheel and before the transmission is the torque convertor. This is what pressurizes the transmission so that is it shifts into and between gears as the car is running. Good luck.
to the transmission, not the engine
On the bottom of the engine or transmission. On the bottom of the engine or transmission.
The crankshaft positioning sensor is located between the engine and the transmission about one third way down looking from inside top of engine. It is not easy to find. You are looking for a connector wire with the sensor, it is bolted onto the transmission with a 10MM bolt.
Usually the starter is located on the lower rear of the engine block.
The 16 pin scan tool connector is on the driver side behind the panel under the steering wheel. A 2-pin connector is located behind the glovebox on the passenger side. This can be used with a single jumper wire, hook it up and count the flashes of the "check engine" light, or count the flashes of the "D" light in the transmission selector to diagnose electronically controlled transmission problems. A Honda factory service manual is available online for less than $20, a good deal as there are dozens of engine and transmission codes possible to diagnose this way.

the transmission is located on the driver's side of the engine and yes the engine has to be removed to change the transmission
Using a Diesel fuel conditioner would be good for your engine and would not be bad at all.
Standard 22R engine will give a mixed result of 12.5L/100km. I would say less when fitted to your Cressida.
The Cressida had a 2.4-litre22Rengine producing 108 horsepower
The cause is most likely electrical, with a possible chaffed wire, loose connector connection or loose ground wire leading to the engine, transmission or elsewhere.
