What does the blue marlin eat?
Blue Marlin eat anything that is most abundant.They have been known to feed on lobsters, crabs,and also a few large prawns. They normally eat bluefin tuna, yellow fin tuna, skip jack tuna, black fin tuna, little tunny,bullet mackeral, Atlantic mackeral, frigate, mackerel, blue runners, crevalle jacks, all amberjacks and all other mackerel, jack, or tuna, houndfish, all needlefishes, snappers, groupers, redfish, black drum, and other drums are also eaten.They even sometimes eat diving sea birds and they eat lots of eels when possible also eat barracuda, sea chubs, and smaller bill-fish are also commonly eaten.
there are more than one species of Marlin native to Florida, The two more common Marlins would be the Blue Marlin or Makaira nigricans which can be found throughout the Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean. the second, a similar species to the Blue Marlin is the White Marlin or Tetrapturus albidus, this Marlin is found in the same habitats and regions as the Blue Marlin
