What does the ending of Night Day mean?

I don't interpret the ending as evidence that she has dreamed or daydreamed the whole episode. I think she was shot by Richard Boone's character (note the small hole in her back when Marlon Brando cuts her down). I think the scenes shown after she dies/while she's dying are possibly showing what she is thinking about as she dies; what she remembers about what happened right before she was snatched and about how Rita Moreno (stewardess) and Marlon Brando (chauffeur) were involved in the kidnapping. What do YOU think?
