It most popularly is used as an insulting word. it can also mean
to have sex with.
The origin of the "F" word comes from 16th century England. It didn't start out as a "bad" word. The letters stood for "Fornication Under Consent of the King". This gave husbands the right to "have their manly needs" be taken care of by a woman other than their wife and with the Kings permission. Hence legal adultry.
