As a TV technician, I can't recall ever seeing anything with that fuse designation. My best guess would be that it's a "F" sized fuse. If it is, it's about 20 mm. long, around 3/16" round and made of glass or ceramic. If it clear glass and it looks like it's filled with granules similar to salt, it's probably a chemically delayed (but not slow blow) fuse.
If it's round, about 5/8" in diameter and 3/8" thick it's still a five amp fuse, but in a different configuration. It would be OK to substitute a glass fuse with leads in its place. Just be careful that the leads aren't touching any other part or metal parts near it.

From: http://experts.about.com/q/Ford-Repair-811/1997-Ford-Explorer-XLT.htm "Unfortunately, the daytime running lights are in the wiring harness and if you do not have the module, you will need to take it to a garage to program it into your system." I'm not sure if its also accurate for the Sable. However, if you run into a problem where the lights won't turn off, you can also pull the fuse for DRL. It is in the fuse box under the hood.
