In the beloved 1939 film version of 'The Wizard of Oz', the Wicked Witch of the West stalked Dorothy Gale and her pet dog Toto and their three friends the Cowardly Lion, the Scarecrow, and the Tin Woodman. The object of the Witch's obsession was the pair of slippers that Dorothy had been given off the dead body of the Wicked Witch of the East. The Wicked Witch of the West therefore tried to intimidate those who helped Dorothy. And so she wrote in the sky above the Emerald City of Oz Surrender Dorothy.

Nothing. The Wicked Witch of the East died with the landing of Dorothy's farmhouse on her. But in the 1939 film version of the book The Wizard of Oz, the Wicked Witch of the West wrote Surrender Dorothy in the sky.

The Wicked Witch of the West writes "Surrender Dorothy" in the sky. It seems to be written with smoke coming off her broom, similar to how airplanes can be used to write messages in the sky.

When The group reaches Emerald City and talks to the Wizard of Oz. What do they have to do before he will consider granting their wishes?

Bring him the Broomstick of the Wicked Witch of the West

Which way does the Wicked Witch fly?

In the 1939 film version of The Wicked Witch of Oz, viewers don't know in which direction Kansas is from the beautiful, enchanted, magical land of Oz. So we don't know from which direction Dorothy Gale's house approaches the Blue Munchkin Country of the East. We just know that Dorothy's house and the Wicked Witch, presumably of the East, travel in the same directionto the same, fatal point. Later in the film, Dorothy Gale, her pet dog Toto, and their three friends the Cowardly Lion, the Scarecrow, and the Tin Woodman wend their way down the Yellow Brick Road of Munchkinland to the Emerald City of Oz. The Emerald City is in the center of Oz. Therefore, the five friends must be going westward. And that's the same direction that the Wicked Witch of the West therefore goes when she hops on her broom, to get to the Emerald City first.

What is the setting of Wicked?

Wicked is set in the Land of Oz. However, its is specifically set in the Munchkinland, The Vinkus and The Emerald City.

How did Dorothy and her friends return to the Emerald City in 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz'?

It is by the Winged Monkeys that Dorothy and her friends return to the Emerald City in "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz."Specifically, there is no sure travel between the Emerald City and Wicked Witch of the West's palace in the Yellow Country of the Winkies in western Oz. But she has the Golden Cap by which she can call the Winged Monkeys. The monkeys arrive and carry the five friends back to the Emerald City.

What was Dorothy's destination?

Home, which was her Uncle Henry's and Aunt Em's farm in Kansas. But in order to reach that destination, she had the short-term destinations of the Emerald City of Oz, for help from the Wizard; the Yellow Castle of the Wicked Witch of the West, to carry out a mission for the Wizard, in exchange for his help; and the country of the Quadlings, for help from Glinda the Good Witch of the South.

Why do the Emerald City gates finally open to Dorothy in 'The Wizard of Oz'?

That she demands to see the Wizard in the book and that she is sent by the Good Witch in the film are the reasons why the Emerald City gates finally open to Dorothy in "The Wizard of Oz."Specifically, in the book, the Guardian of the Gates must let pass all those who demand to see the Wizard. But in the book, that information is not conveyed. Instead, the guard decides to admit Dorothy since the Good Witch sends her and she wears the magic shoes of the Wicked Witch of the East.

Where is the setting in wicked?

Oz. Act One takes place in Shiz and the Emerald City. Act Two takes place in The Emerald City, Munchkinland, somewhere in the woods, and Kiamo Ko, which is a castle in the mountains of Kiamo Ko.

What does Dorothy steal from the Wicked Witch of the West?

Answer #1Well, your question is a bit deceiving. While the answer might seem obvious, it is not really, as Dorothy Gale did not actually steal the notorious magical silver shoes - or ruby slippers, as played in the movie - from the Wicked Witch of the West. She removed them from the lifeless body of the Wicked Witch of the East, her sister, just after that body went "Poof!" While the Wicked Witch of the West seriously desired those shoes (slippers), they never truly belonged to her from which to then be later stolen. What Dorothy really "stole" from WWW was the life of WWE...Answer #2The Golden Cap, with which the Wicked Witch of the West had summoned the winged monkeys; and food for the journey to the Emerald City. Both were in the Witch's cupboard in her Yellow Palace. Dorothy removed them after the death of the Wicked Witch of the West.Answer #3She also stole the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West after the witch died. She took the broom back to the Wizard. That was her deal with the Wizard. If she brings back the broom of the WWW, then the Wizard will help her get back home to Kansas and also help her friends Scarecrow, Tinman and the Lion.

Who is the first witch to whom Dorothy speaks in the book 'The Wizard of Oz'?

The nameless Good Witch of the North is the first witch to whom Dorothy speaks in "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz."Specifically, the Good Witch arrives with Munchkin well-wishers. She gives the Wicked Witch of the East's slippers to Dorothy and tells her to see the Wizard in the Emerald City about getting back to Kansas. She kisses Dorothy on the forehead, as protection against evil, and directs her to the yellow brick road of Oz.

Was the Wicked Witch of the West described as having green skin in the book 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz'?

No, there is no description of the Wicked Witch of the West as being green-skinned anywhere in "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz."Specifically, author and Oz series originator Lyman Frank Baum (May 15, 1856 - May 6, 1919) only describes the witch as one-eyed, old and dried up. The book includes just three illustrations of the witch, none of which show her as having green skin. The magical lands of Oz include green-skinned people, all of whom live in and around the Emerald City and none of whom includes witches. Additionally, the colors of the Winkie country over which the Wicked Witch of the West rules are yellow.

What does Dorthy have to do in the Wizard of Oz?

Towards the end of the film, following the balloon inicdent Dorothy finds herself awake in her bedroom at home. the entire episode was, in layman"s terms, a Nightmare. This plot resolution automatically would preclude a sequel as the thing never happened outside fantasy land.
