Technically there's no "wonder food" but certainly broccoli is known as the king of vegetables. Tomatoes and cruciferous vegetables (e.g., cabbage) are said to help prevent cancer. Celery and mushrooms are considered "negative calorie" foods so they're ideal for weight-loss. Also, omega-3 fatty acids in eggs and fish are very good for your metabolism and have been shown to help overcome depression.

Additionally, food isn't the issue here. It's what nutrients that come in food. For instance, red meat is a rich source of protein, iron, zinc and vitamin B12, and saturated fat (which is actually not a bad thing). Grains are high in carbohydrates. Oranges are high in vitamin C. Broccoli is high in Vitamin C and Vitamin A. All vegetables and fruits are a significant source of fibre. While dairy, meat and eggs do not have such high fibre, they are significant sources of other essential nutrients needed for the human body.

Once you understand the nutrients that you need to take in every day and how much of those nutrients are needed to maintain a healthy body, lose weight, gain weight, gain muscle or even satisfy those bodily cravings, and also understand what certain nutrients can do to you, what foods will do you more good than you realize, and what foods to avoid or minimize, then you can have a "diet" of the healthiest food for YOU.

Remember: Everyone is different. No-one diet is suitable for everyone, so choose wisely.
