Great White Sharks are carnivorous, and primarily eat fish (including rays, tuna, and smaller sharks). The Great White Shark eat dolphins, porpoises, whales, Ear less seals, Eared seals and sea lions. Sea otters and sea turtles are also taken at times. Great whites have also been known to eat objects that they are unable to digest. In great white sharks above 3.41 metres (11 ft, 2 in) a diet consisting of a higher proportion of mammals has been observed.[10] These sharks prefer prey with high contents of energy rich fat. Shark expert Peter Klimley used a rod-and-reel rig and trolled carcasses of a seal, a pig, and a sheep to his boat in the South Farallons. The sharks attacked all three baits but rejected the lower fat content sheep carcass.[11]
Great Whites are pure carnivores. They are ambush hunters. They take their prey by surprise from below. They usually hunt early in the morning before the sun rises fully, when the visibility is poor. They usually come up fast from below and attack an unsuspecting prey that is at the water surface. During such attacks, the prey may be thrown off from water, with even the shark making a jump out of the water. Sometimes, when an injured prey starts to escape, they are known to chase and finish the hunt.

yesThe great white shark can eat a octopus just because a octopus is is bigger then a shark doesn't mean the shark can't eat it. the shark can eat a octopus with its really sharp teeth.
Great White Sharks (Carcharodon carcharias), being the largest predatory fish, do eat other sharks, including those of their same species. They do not eat humans, though they sometimes confuse us for a seal (their favorite prey) and take an exploratory bite. Humans are not a natural part of any sharks' diet.
