It depends on the turtle. Most turtles found at pest stores (like red ear sliders) will eat insects like crickets and meal worms. If you are keeping a turtle as a pet, it is ok to feed it turtle pellets from the pet store. You can also give them freeze dried crickets, shrimp, or krill and give them a live cricket every once in a while for a treat.
But note they some turtles (like eastern painted turtles) will only eat meat and living things as young. As they grow older they will become herbivores (plant eaters). But it is still ok to feed them the pellets
