What effect did the Russian Revolution have on postwar America?

The Russian Revolution, a revolution during WWI, was originally a revolution to create a Russian Republic, and it gave Americans a view of "civilized Allied countries are all moving toward democratic ways." But since the Bolsheviks took advantage of the instability of the new country, the country was at a civil war between the Red Army (them) and the White Army. Eventually, communist dictatorship wins and takes over, and the disillusioned Americans now feels that socialist ideas are too radical.
