In the United States buildings account for 39% of total energy use and 72% of all electricity that is produced. In commercial buildings, most of this energy is used to run artificial lighting. In residential buildings, most of the energy is used heat and cool our homes. By being more conscious of building design and equipment selection, we can easily reduce build energy consumption by 30% or more.

Transportation is also a large consumer of energy. It takes a lot of fuel to transport ourselves and all of the stuff that we buy. However, reducing the amount of energy you use for transportation is also fairly simple. Many people realized the importance of this when gas was $4/gallon, and now that the economy is weak. Fuel consumption has decreased as a result of these two occurences Many of the car companies are now producing more efficient cars. The easiest was to reduce transportation energy consumption, and in turn save money is to carpool or use public transportation whenever possible.

Where does the energy come from that drives cell metabolism?

How do plants produce energy?

The plants produce energy with a function called photosynthesis. They use sunlight to make energy.

What do plants get from animals?

Carbon dioxide is the main thing plants get, but they also get nutrients through animal excrement and carcasses.it uses a fluid in its self called chloroplast this use of chloroplast is photo synthesis

Green plants use what kind of energy during photosynthesis?

The Green plants convert solar energy into chemical energy and with the help of cholorophyll they produse their food.

The energy plants use during photosynthesis comes from what?

The energy for photosynthesis comes from the sun. This solar energy is converted to chemical energy through the process of photosynthesis.

What colors provide the most energy for plants?

The wavelengths of light that contain the most energy that plants can use are blue.

People on earth get most of their energy from?

If your talking about the energy we use to live, we get it from the sun, via plants and animals who eat plants.

Where do most plants obtain energy that they use to start the process of photosynthesis?

Sunlight

Why is most life on earth dependent on solar energy to survive?

1. The radiation from the sun gives of energy that plants can use. Then the plants use the energy and give out oxygen for the animals to breathe from. Therefore the animals take in the oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide and the plants also use that as energy and the process repeats. Both plants and animals use this process in which help each other.

Plants use energy in what to make food?

Plants use the energy in sunlight to make food

Do plants require less energy than animals because they are much smaller than most animals?

No, actually plants require more energy, because unlke animals plants use energy as food as to where animals hunt and eat plants.

How do most producers meet their energy needs?

Most producers are plants. These organisms get their energy from the sun. They use this energy that they can store in their system to process the food that they make for themselves.

Do plants and other autotrophs such as Euglena and seaweed do cellular respiration too?

All plants must have a way of getting energy. Most plants even underwater plants such as seaweed use photosynthesis and cellular respiration to get energy.

What do plants that use photosynthesis and plants that use sugar for energy have in common?

they are both plants

What do plants use most of their energy for?

Most plants get their energy from the process of photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is a chemical process that converts carbon dioxide into organic compounds, especially sugars, using the energy from sunlight.Photosynthesis:carbon dioxide + water + sun's energy → carbohydrates + oxygenorCO2 + H2O + energy → C6H12O6 + O2=photosynthesis

Most plants and animals require food and oxygen to live. Plants and animals primarily use the oxygen to convert their food into?

energy
