What enzymes are used for digestion?
These are three enzymes or digestion- I hope this helps:) Digestive Enzymes- Peptidases- break down proteins. Amylases- break down Carbs. Disaccharidases- break down disaccharides(sugars) into monosaccharides.
The stomach is a large sack full of digestive enzymes. Its role in digestion is both mechanical and chemical. The stomach is full of enzymes which break down food and kill bacteria. The stomach also moves around, churning its contents. This action breaks down food mechanically during digestion and is the last form of mechanical digestion in the digestive process.
digestion starts in the mouth where the food is broken down by enzymes in your saliva. the the food passes down to the stomach where the enzymes are denatured. then the food molecules pass through to the small intestine when they are broken down by more enzymes. the products made from this are then absorbed by the small intestine wall or passed along out of the body.
1. Mechanical digestion- the actual breaking down of food into very small pieces (example Chewing). 2. Chemical digestion- the breakdown of large particles into smaller ones by using ENZYMES. ENZYMES are substances created by the body that speed up CHEMICAL DIGESTION. PERISTALSIS is the wave like muscle squeezing that forces food down into the stomach.
