When Katara and Sokka find him in the iceberg, he keeps that secret that he is the avatar away from them. But when a banished fire nation prince named Zuko goes to the South Pole where Katara and Sokka live, he figures out that Aang is the Avatar. Ever since Zuko was banished, he has been chasing the Avatar so he could get his honor back. Also, Aang really likes Katara. And whenever Aang tries to tell Katara that he loves her, then something always interupts him. But at an invasion called The Day of Black Sun, Aang kisses Katara. Then, in the very last episode of Avatar the Last Airbender, Aang and Katara finally kiss.

I haven't read the books but the last episode is probabley the last story or last capter. The last episode of Avatar the Last Airbender is the 4th part of Sozin's Comet In the last 4 episodes of Avatar Zuko carries on training Aang firebending Team Avatar (Aang, katara, Sokka, Toph, Suki and Zuko) start training to defeat Firelord Ozai but Aang doesn't want to kill him so he runs off. when he runs off he is sort of sleepwalking/sleepswimming. he speaks to Avatar Roku, Kyoshi, Kuruk and Yangchen. The rest of Team Avatar find the girl who owns the sheershu (can't remember her name) they can't find Aang but the sheershu takes them to Ba Sing Se so they can find Iroh. They find out that Bumi, PNdow, Pakku and Jon Jon are members of the Order of the White Lotus and they lead them to Iroh. Iroh says he can't help defeat Firelord Ozai but he is going to take back ba Sing Se. Sozin's Comet Part 4 - Avatar Aang (last avatar episode) Aang unlocks his last chakra but doesn't kill firelord Ozai. instead he uses a technique that a giant lion turtle taught him and stopped Ozai from firebending. katara heals Zuko after he was shot by Azula's lightning, Iroh and the order of the white lotus take back ba sing se. Zuko becomes firelord and they end with Aang and Katara kissing in Iroh's tea room, The Jasmine Dragon in Ba Sing Se

The epsoide was called 'The Crossroads of Destiny'. I went along with 'The Gru" and was made into Season 2's season finalle and it was also a movie. Aang, Uncle Iroh, Sokka, and Toph found out where Katara and Zuko were and that Azula is plotting an evil sceme. Sokka and Toph went to go warn the Earth King but got arrested and then they broke out of jail. During the time, Iroh gives Aang some great advice about Aang's avatar state and then ending up finding Katara and Zuko. After Katara and Aang leave to help Sokka and Toph, Iroh tries to convince Zuko to come to his good side. Azula then interurups and tries to convince Zuko to come to his bad side.
