An era is a span of time, so there was no era at that time. It was, however, the end of one era and the beginning of another. More specifically it was the end of the Mesozoic and the beginning of the Cenozoic.
50 million years ago Earth was in the following geological time periods.
Phanerozoic Eon (542Ma - Now)
Cenozoic Era (65.5Ma - Now)
Paleogene Period (65.5 - 23.03Ma)
Eocene Epoch (55.8 - 33.9Ma)
Ypresian Age (55.8 - 48.6Ma)
The era in that occurred from 251 to 65 million years ago was the Mesozoic Era. The periods in the Mesozoic Era is the Triassic Period, the Jurassic Period, and the Cretaceous Period. Cycads, Early Mammals, Coelophysis, Morganucodons, Diplodocus, Archaeopteryz, Triceratops, Magnolias, Tyrannosaurus Rex, and Creodonts exusted during this time frame.
-Your Welcome. Hi Jerlyn.
It would be the CENOZOIC ERA!!!!!
Paleozoic era and middle of Silurian period-end of Devonian period
( . Y . )
It is called the Mesozoic Era.
Carboniferous
Mesozoic era
The Mesozoic Period (251 - 65 million years ago) lasted approximately 216 million years. It consisted of the Triassic Period (251 - 200 million years ago), the Jurassic Period (199-146 million years ago) and the Cretaceous Period (145 - 65 million years ago).
The Age of Reptiles refers to the Mesozoic Era.
Precambrian
Insects thrived during the Permian period. The Permian period lasted from 299 to 251 million years ago and it was between the Paleozoic and the Mesozoic periods.
The Paleozoic Era began about 540 million years ago and ended about 245 million years ago. Therefore, it lasted about 290 million years. Sources: My Earth Science book and my great brain.
251 million years ago
The Mesozoic Period (251 - 65 million years ago) lasted approximately 216 million years. It consisted of the Triassic Period (251 - 200 million years ago), the Jurassic Period (199-146 million years ago) and the Cretaceous Period (145 - 65 million years ago).
Paleozoic Era - 291 million years (542 - 251 Ma)Mesozoic Era - 185.5 million years (251 - 65.5 Ma)Carboniferous Period - 62.2 million years (359.2 - 299Ma)Jurassic Period - 54.1 million years (199.6 - 145.5 Ma)
At the end of the Permian Period which was about 251 million years ago
Precambrian
The Age of Reptiles refers to the Mesozoic Era.
After Palezoic era (251-542 Million years ago), came Mesozoic era (65.5-251 Million years ago). The Mesozoic era is subdivided into 3: Triassic Period (199.6-251 mya) Jurassic Period (145.5-199.6 mya) Cretaceous Period (65.5-145.5 mya) Note: mya means million years ago.
The Triassic was from about 225 million to 190 million years ago. It is the first period of the Mesozoic ("middle life") Era.The Triassic Period is most commonly believed to have begun 251 million years ago and lasted until 199.6 million years ago.
They dominated the Earth for over 160 million years, from the late Triassic period (about 230 million years ago) until the end of the Cretaceous period (65 million years ago).
Insects thrived during the Permian period. The Permian period lasted from 299 to 251 million years ago and it was between the Paleozoic and the Mesozoic periods.
The era from 418 to 355 million years ago was the Paleozoic Era that existed during the Middle of the Silurian Period and at the end of the Devonian Period. Jawed fish, Arachnids, Eurypterids, Land Plants, Devonian Forests, Sharks, Lung Fish, and Bony Fish were present during this time frame.
It is about 251 million years ago
