The feature sis called 'auto-correct'. As you type, the program checks your text against the built-in dictionary. If you misspell a word - it changes it to the closest match from the list.

Enter needs to be pressed when Microsoft Word automatically corrects misspelled words and displays the corrected word.
With some words, Word automatically replaces them with other words; this is done with commonly misspelled or mistyped words. Note you can remove entries or turn off this feature if you want. Also note that a separate feature does capitalization for the first word of a sentence.

Something that changes your word it can be very annoying like your trying to put sucks and it changes it to ducks it annoyed me
