You downloaded catz 5 and it has all the files you mounted the iso image but it still says you need the disk what are you doing wrong?
You need to burn the download to a DVD because the file is wanting to be read from the disc drive. The iso file won't let you do an install without making a DVD. (See MSDN's ask a question section answer by "Benji"): " There is two ways to install the .ISO file system 1. To burn the .ISO file to any CD/DVD using the CD/DVD burning software like Nero, Roxio etc. then run the CD/DVD to install. or 2. Use a Virtual CD/DVD Drive Software which can be useful to use the .ISO file without burning to the CD/DVD ROM. These are gives a extra Virtual CD/DVD option in which we can place the .ISO file and use as the normal CD we use. Some of the Virtual CD Software like 1. Virtrual CD 2. ISO Buster etc."

Can i use a DVD movie on my computer?
As long as the DVD region is set to the same one the DVD movie is though, if not you do not want to change it too many time because after 5 changes a computer's drive is locked to the last region. Ones the someone makes are hit and miss on the exact DVD-drive you have. Without a DVD drive you need to get an DVD/CD-drive emulator and mount the movie image onto that (normally an ISO or cue/bin file).

What is drive formatting?
Drive Formatting is when you prepare the hard drive or other media for use by the operating system and puts a file system on it such as FAT32 or NTFS. The process erases all the data on your hard drive (important to back it up). That way you can use your hard drive for the first time or get to use it again after the data on it becomes severely corrupted or the operating system fails.

What is the use of the UDF file system and how it applies to a DVD?

How do you download Sabayon Linux without a DVD burner?
Downloading it does not require a DVD burner; only burning it to a DVD does. If you don't have a DVD burner, there is a smaller CD ISO image you can use to install it (as long as you have a CD burner). You can also use UNetbootin to install it to a USB Flash drive from Windows. If you have another hard drive in your system, you can also install it in "Frugal" mode to that drive, although performance will be somewhat impaired.

Can you back up computer files to a DVD?
Yes you can. You can use Windows backup program. Select the files/folders you want to backup and save it on your hard drive or on another removable media. Insert your blank DVD to your Bluray/DVD writer. You can either drag your backup file to your Bluray/DVD writer icon or use third party software to burn the backup file to blank DVDs. Make sure the total size of the files you select for each time backup not exceed 4.2GB - 4.5GB. Otherwise the final backup file will not fit into 4.7GB single layer DVD. You'll have to use UDF file system on a third party software whenever you want to burn a file more than 2GB in size. I can recommend Nero Burning ROM to burn your backup files to DVDs.
