We have 3 pet African Dwarf Frogs. They are the cutiest things ever...today while getting ready to feed them, we noticed one of them choking on a rock. My wife happened to see him gobble the rock, it in his mouth and appeared to be going down his throat, he was shuttering and choking on the thing. In 15 seconds it was all over and he managed to cough it up. We normally feed him microscopic pellets. I bet the rock was the size of 20 pellets. Don't know what possessed him to try to down the thing. They are not the brightest creatures.
I read somewhere that frogs can die by eating rocks, as they can't pass them out.
next time we change the bowl, we'll change out the rocks and put in bigger rock.
Insects, small fishes and even small frogs depending on what species of frog is your pet is.
Feed it what it normally eats in the wild..
They tend to eat insects. A friend of mine who has a pet frog, buys crickets and just lets many of them loose in the around the frog.
If you don't want to buy crickets, you can go out side and catch many random insects (frogs can eat almost any insect that will fit in their mouth, as long as it is not poisonous and does not have a stinger).
Frogs eat only live food, mainly insects such as crickets. They will also eat living meal worms. Frogs need to see their food moving in order to recognize it as something to eat.
