Meat, Eggs, Fats, Cheese, Bacon, Sugar, Butter, Potatoes and much more

Sweets were rationed, all except for cough sweets

Foods such as eggs, milk, sweets, fruit and vegetables were rationed. It was suggested that people grow their own crops. This was called "Dig For Victory".

Fish and chips were never rationed and restaurant's were not Rationed

if the food was available and you could afford it you went out

to ration everything would have put restaurants out of Business

some things were supply and demand My parents could Not afford eggs from June 1942 until June 1944 because the Americans pushed the price up and in June 1944 they were almost Giving them away

we had a small allotment growing vegetables and would share

as a kid i would follow the delivery horses for Manure
