The Speed of the bat upon contact of the Baseball is the element which produces the energy to drive the baseball over the fence. This of course assumes the ball hits the bat on the "sweet spot" and there isn't a Wrigley Field 40 knot wind blowing into your face.

Some may argue a player's strength provides the power to produce home runs, but although strength plays a large role in powering the body, which enables the body to work in unison, brute strength will not produce out of the park home runs.
