I drive a 1998 Dodge RAM 1500 Quad Cab with the 5.9L engine. For the 1998 Dodge RAM 1500 (gas powered) fuse 11 in the fuse panel on the left side of the instrument panel supplies power to the purge valve. When you open the driver's side door you will see a small cover ( approx 6 x 6) in the side of the instrument panel. Pull the cover open and the fuse in question should be the last one on the top right .. the one that is hard to get to. Inside the fuse cover door there is a diagram of fuse locations. This fuse is only powered when the ingition switch is in ON or Run position. NOTE the position and number of this fuse changed on the 1998 model .. it is not the same as the fuse on the 1997 RAM. Hope this helps.
