Supervisors have lots of rights on the site. Any user can work their way to show they are ready to become Supervisors. This system is not Communistic.

How can you get a job at WikiAnswers?

Well, you don't really get a paying job here at WA, you are usually asked by another Supervisor if you would like to become a Supervisor. It is kind of something that is done by recommendations. If you have a lot of contributions, are a registered user, have quality answers, and know how to use a lot of the site tools you can become a Supervisor. If you see a category that does not already have a supervisor and you feel that you can be a Super for that category you can click on the link beside the questions that says " Can you supervise this category?" and right beside of it there will be a link in blue that says "Become a Supervisor". It is on the left side of the page. Community Assistants and Technical and Development staff work for WikiAnswers. The job posting page for a job on Answers.com is listed in the Related Links area below.

Mentors are basically Supervisor-trainers. A mentor helps new Supervisors with their new super powers, and how and when to use them. Mentors are among the most knowledgable among the community, and know how to use every feature on WikiAnswers.

When you send a request to become a Supervisor on WikiAnswers how long does it take until you become one?

When you send a request to become a Supervisor (and you are 15 and have asked at least 3 questions, and made 15 edits and answers to questions), it may take about a week for a response to come to you. You may be asked to first join the SPA program, which is a program that is basically a training program to see if you have the determination or WikiAnswers skills to become a Supervisor. Your SPA program will take 1 month at minimum to complete, if you complete each task very promptly, so don't expect to become a Supervisor right away just because you filled out the application.
