well if you bring a negatively charged object near a positively charged object, they will attract each other, but if you bring two positively charged objects near each other they will repel just like the rule sais:

Like Charges repel, Unlike charges attract

the closer the charges, the greater force between them

What happens when a charged object is brought to another oppositely charged object?

There will be flow of electrons from negatively charged object towards the positively charged object making an attempt to make both of them electrically neutral.

An object becomes charged when the atoms in the object gain or lose what?

An object becomes charged when the atoms in the object gain or lose? A) protons B) neutrons C) electrons D)All of the above Answer (1) - Wrong My answer is most definitely D) All Of Above Answer (2) - Right A) and B) because if we assume an object to be neutral at first then if we lose a proton (positively charged) the object becomes negatively charged, if we lose an electron (negatively charged) the object becomes positively charged. Neutrons have no net charge (neutrally charged) so if we take on away nothing happens.

What happens when a charged ebonite rod is brought close to water?

Ebonite rod becomes positively charged and the fur becomes negatively charged. Hold on electrons: Fur > Ebonite rod So, the ebonite rod loses its electrons to the fur and the fur becomes negatively charged.

What happens when two positively charged bodies are touched?

they repel

What are some examples of charging by contact?

When a charged object touches another object. Electrons can be transferred through friction. Electrons can also be transferred through contact and conduction. You can charge a neutral object by contact with a charged object. Charging by contact happens when electrons move from one object to a neutral object.

It becomes more negatively charged, since electrons carry a negative charge.

What happens when a balloon with a negative charge is brought to the surface of a wall?

i dont know ask your friends at school. if your old, live with it. A Negative Charge or a collection of negative charges will repel other negative charges. A negatively charged balloon will therefore repel those few negative charges in a wall that are capable of moving a little bit. That area of the wall close to the negatively charged balloon will therefore become positively charged. A positively charged wall will attract a negatively charged balloon and the two will stick together.

What happens to metals in ionic bonding?

Metals lose electrons to become positively charged but stable. The electrons they lose are accepted by the non-metal to become negatively charged but stable.

What happens to the rod when it is rub by nylon?

It depends on what the rod is made of. For example, if it's a glass rod the glass will lose electrons to the nylon and become positively charged, and the nylon will gain electrons and become negatively charged. If the rod is made of aluminum or steel, the rod will gain electrons from the nylon and become negatively charged, and the nylon will become positively charged.
