Amelia Earhart Crashed on an island in Hawaii on her way around the world. She then got captured in one of the jails for intruding with a crash. She was not treated well from the crash, and she died leaving her navigator to starve to death.
Amelia went missing in l937 the US did not enter the War until l94l, the battle of Pearl Harbor being the catalyst. On the other hand the Nanking offensive (sino-jap) was in progress in July of l937.
No one knows for sure, some say that her navigator had been drinking or that they ran out of fuel. But their signal started to go out with the station and they didn't hear anything else since.
