Henry Hudson's crew abandoned him because they were angry because the ship had been frozen in the river duroing the winter and was running low or out of food. They couldn't kill him (a mutiny) because his young son was with them and if they didn't kill him, too, then Hudson's son would tell everyone that they had killed his father. They really didn't want to kill a child- would you?

So the crew solved this problem by sending Hudson, his son, and a few loyal sailors off in a little boat. They were never seen again, and the crew was arrested when they returned to Europe

No one really knows what happened to them. The most logical answer is that they died after being set adrift on the boat after the mutiny on June 22, 1611. They most likely dies of frostbite and starvation.

After surviving the winter while their ship was trapped in the Arctic ice, Hudson's crew mutinied. They placed him, his son, and several other men into a small boat and cast them adrift. No one ever heard from him again.

Henry Hudson's crew can be described as restless. They suffered with Hudson from cold, disease and hunger. The crew mutinied, setting Hudson adrift with his son in a small boat in 1611.
