After World War II, there were three main events(wars) that occurred in Indochina.

  1. The First Indochina War was the war between France and the North Vietnam. This war expanded into Cambodia and Laos also.
  2. The Second Indochina War or often called the Vietnam War, in which North Vietnam fought against South Vietnam and the United States. North Vietnam wanted to take over the South and to integrate Vietnam into one communist nation.
  3. The Cambodian-Vietnamese War took place after Vietnam War. In this war, the Khmer Rouge(Cambodian Genocide) army that led by Pol Pot fought against Vietnam. The war lasted until 1989.
