After the American Revolution, the North became more industrialized and the need for slaves was minimal. The practice remained in the South, but the number of slaves in the US declined continuously.
The increase in manufacturing in the Northern part of the US brought on a decline for the need of slaves. Slavery in the South was also on the decline. This was due to the amount of labor required to plant and more importantly harvest cotton plants. The industrial revolutionary invention of the cotton gin greatly reduced the manpower required to harvest cotton. As world demand for cotton increased world wide, Southern plantation cotton production was able to increase to meet that demand. Textile mills in the Northern US factories and mills abroad, such as in England sought cotton. The invention of the cotton gin by Eli Whitney doomed the decline of slavery in the South. The slave population of the US by 1860 was about four million.
Congress gave in to the demands of colonies that had large numbers of slave owners.
They were part of the Patriots due to the fact that they fought just as equally! Afterwards, they became official soldiers.

The American Revolution and the US Civil War.
The American Revolution did not effect slavery. It was the Civil War that had the biggest effect on slavery in the US.
Slavery has been with us since before recorded history. It is STILL with us. Do not think that because some countries have outlawed it that is is no longer happening.Nor did the 'American revolution' have anything to do with the abolishment of slavery in the US.
Slavery still existed after the US revolution. In parts of the world it still exists.
During a period of time, the colonial government of Georgia abolished it until a revolt from its people (this revolt is not that American Revolution). After the American Revolution, slavery started getting less intense. Some time during Abraham Lincoln's presidency, some states abolished slavery and became illegal after the Confederacy's defeat.
The US Americans were the ones who were revolting in the American Revolution.
The American Revolution nor the US Civil War ended slavery in the United States. The 13th Amendment to the US Constitution ended slavery. The 13th Amendment was approved and passed by both Houses in February 1865, and ratified by 3/4 of the US States, in December 1865.
Following the American Revolution, for many years the major concerns of the US were westward expansion, fighting wars with the indigenous population ("Indians"), and struggling with the problems of slavery, and the slave state vs. non-slave state issue, which was only resolved by the Civil War.
No. Slavery was outlawed in the US in 1867 and the American Anti-Slavery Society was dissolved in 1870.
