A lot of women were very active during the French Revolution. They fought at the Bastille, marched on Versailles and brought back the king, discussed and wrote pamflets.

Olympe de Gouges wrote the the Declaration of Rights of Women. In this she argued that women should be treated equal to men and have the same opportunities. She was arrested after making a poster, but kept writing in prison and published a text in which she condemned the Terror.
