During Bill Clinton's terms in office, the economy was fine. There were no major events occurring that directly involved the US and so President W Clinton was permitted the rare opportunity to get the nation 'in order.' Some writers (not historians, yet...it's still too early) have written that Clinton's terms were relatively quiet, which gave him the opportunity to consolidate previous president's economic initiatives and build a surplus in the US Government's budget.

All Bill Clinton ever did is what people wanted him to do. When the Republicans were in Congress, he would vote Republican. He did what sounded good at the time, and the Democrats hated him for it.

In my margin of intelligence, the economy was spiraling downward when he left, but then again I just read that off Yahoo Answers.

I can't find any liberals able to give me straight answers. Fox Business seems to know it: He promoted Republican ideas when it was good, and he did what Democrats did when that was good.
