With a scan tool or a battery disconnect.
Disconnect the battery for ten minutes.

The battery, on a 2010 Chrysler Limited Sebring, can be changed by first removing the battery cover. Remove the battery cables and the retaining bolt. The battery will left out. Reverse the process to install the new battery.
disconnect the battery. Remove the alternator belt then disconnect the wires. Unbolt the alternator and remove. Bolt the new alternator in then connect the wires, belt, and battery.

If it is like the 97, you disconnect the battery harness (bar that runs over the top of the battery connecting on both sides..)disconnect the terminals, remove the battery.. put new battery in and reconnect everything you just removed.. not overly difficult.. Good luck.. :)
Disconnect the battery count to twenty then reinstall cable. All emission data will not be erased.
Typically, you just disconnect it, unbolt any retaining bolts, and pull it out. Always disconnect the negative cable first when removing a battery and reconnect the negative cable last when installing a battery. The pertains to a negative ground system only.
