Vitamin B6 is used to make neurotransmitters (such as serotonin) and myelin, which insulates the axons of neurons. In adults, deficiency can cause depression, confusion, seizures, inflamed skin, inflamed mucous membranes (lips, gums, etc.), and anemia.
