The remains of the animal are usually eaten by other organisms (scavengers, predators, detrivores), and their atoms become part of the ones that eat them. In digestion, food is broken down and used to build one's own body (material for cell division etc). So everything becomes part of their surroundings, and is part of their surroundings during life as well (as everything eats!).
'Matter flows from place to place and momentarily comes together to be you.'
When a cell dies, it triggers certain mechanisms that allow white blood cells as well as neighboring cells to take it in. This allows minimal destruction of neighboring cells as well also allowing the cell that phagocytized it to use its nucleic acids and other chemicals.
Atoms do not die they become part of the earth. Some of the body rots and forms food for other animals. The atoms do not disappear, they simply take a different chemical form.
The atoms no longer exist once the animal decomposes

Therefore the wood it contains is living. When the tree is cut down - it dies. Therefore the wood it contains is dead.
living things interact with each through food. For example when a fish dies, it becomes a non-living thing and there are other organisms that are living and are eating the dead fish, so this is how living things interact with non-living things
