wow. the last answer was totally wrong. this answer is right though because i am learning about this right now :)

okay well first off, the egg shell would disinagrate which is that white foamy stuff at the top. but it takes about one day to get that way. and then there will be a thin coating over the shell. i don't know the chemical equation but i do know that this is what happens. you can acually see the yolk in the egg move around. its pretty tight :)

let me suggest though that you DON'T eat it. because you will or can get salamenela disease and the egg wouldn't taste that good anyways.

i sure hope this helped.

Because eggshells are very rich in calcium and vinegar is a weak acid, and because acids react very well with calcites, the two will produce an interesting phenomenon when combined. When a raw egg is submerged in vinegar and left to sit for a few days, the vinegar will quickly dissolve the eggshell, leaving only the cell membrane of the egg. In the process of osmosis, the vinegar will enter the cell membrane into the egg itself, causing it to expand to about twice its normal size.

An egg shell is mainly calcium carbonate. (CaCO3) ( limestone).

Vinegar is a 4% solution of acetic acid and water.

Mixing produces calcium acetate and carbon dioxide and water.

Equation:

CaCO3 + HC2H3O2 = Ca(C2H3O2)2 + H2CO3 ( H2O + CO2)

CO2 bubbles away as a gas. The Ca(C2H3O2)2 dissolves and the transparent membrane is all that is left as a protective coating for the egg,

Try it at home. It is fun.

What changes can you observe when cemical reactions occur?

It depends on the chemical reaction. For example when you burn something it is a chemical reaction, but that is way different than if you mix baking soda and vinegar which is also a chemical reaction. It changes the matter into a different chemical matter make up of that substance.

What is the reason why bubbling occur when vinegar is mixed with baking soda?

Baking soda + vinegar reaction creates sodium acetate, water, and carbon dioxide gas. Bubbling occurs because of the carbon dioxide gas, which is released by the reaction.

Well, Vinegar is an acid and Baking Soda is a base and when you mix those two you get a Chemical reaction and that is what happens when you mix any acid and base you get a chemical reaction.
