A relationship (between people) is defined as the connection between two or more people. This involves interactions, and interactions can only be achieved with TWO people being involved. When one person in the relationship is getting all their needs met and they only seem to see things through their views, then this is what is considered as a "one sided" relationship, and as such, the other person in the relationship never gets what they wanted from the connection that was formed to begin with.
Since the person who is NOT getting their needs met, and not being heard is not actually achieving the goal of the connection , then that person is likely to leave the connection, or be unhappy with it. Unhappiness, anger, bitterness, and loss will likely occur.
This is why the saying goes "A relationship is a two way street".
