Lots of things can happen, if two plates pull away from each other, the spot where they split will form new land from lava that rose the surface from the crack. If two plate crash together, mountains and volcanoes can form. If two plates slide past each other, a fault appears, causing earthquakes.

The earth's crust is made into giant pieces called tectonic plates. The plates move all the time. Sometimes, when two plates move together, they push up and form mountains. When they move apart, magma, or melted rock beneath earth's surface, fills in the space that was left. When plates move up and down/side to side next to each other, we get earthquakes.

when tectonic plate collides with other tectonic plates or moves into another tectonic plate it affects surface in a way to create mountains. Like Himalayas are created when the indian tectonic plate collided with asian tectonic plate.

Glaciers are just one of the four agents of erosion (flowing water, oceans and wind are the others). As such, glaciers erode, which they do by moving under the influence of gravity. As the glacier moves over the ground, it plucks rocks out of the ground which it has stuck to. Rocks plucked from the ground are also scraped along the ground when they are entrained at the base of the glacier. In these two ways, the glacier erodes the ground as it moves.
