They have identical momentum before the collision . The total momentum will the the same before and after the collision. When the balls collide they will bounce apart both with same force and so the same momentum as originally - but in opposite directions. This assumes no energy loss in an ideal elastic collision.

Momentum is the energy by which the billard balls are moving, so when two billard balls accelerate against each other then collide at one pinpoint, the sum of both energies is divided to affect different substances (energy transformation). A part of it to produce sound energy by which we hear that thundering sound when they collide, a part of it to add pressure to the air around the collision, and above all, a part of it to bounce back each ball away from the other after they were instantly motionless while their momentum was displacing.

this answer is according to my perspective and I'm not 100% sure that it could be the right answer so don't rely much on it!
