It will probably overheat. answer= thermostat will not open and will prevent the flow of coolant . which will in turn do damage to your engine
So, it still has the old thermostat right? Maybe it needs a new one or maybe it got put in upside down. It's easy to do.
It does not beat
You should have the 5.2 engine with your Limited, but some have been ordered with the 4.0. The Thermostat is located on the front of the engine at the end of the Radiator hose. It is between the Alternator, and the A/C Compressor. You might find it easier to remove the Alternator to get to the 2 bolts that hold in the Thermostat Housing. remove them, clean the housing and the surface it sits on, install a new gasket and thermostat and put back anything else you may have taken apart.
If the motor was NOT started, if the head bolts WERE NOT torqued, then you would just need to make sure the head gasket was not pressed and put the head on correctly (head gaskets are cheap replace it if there is even a question). If the head bolts were torqued (tightened at all) you must replace the head gasket. If the motor was started then it depends on how hot it got. Water passages normally do not line up so the engine overheats very quickly because there is no coolant flow, oil flow is also interrupted in most cases; this leads to a myriad of problems including cracked heads, scorched bearings, etc. In this situation it is best to remove both heads, check the block deck to ensure it is not warped, and have the heads tested (re-tested) to ensure they are not warped or cracked.
Gees you get paint on your eyes
Definitely
By connect a starter motor backwards I assume you mean put the negative cable where the positive cable would go and then put the positive cable to the negative connection. In that case the starter motor should run backwards. That might be a handy thing to do if you are using a starter motor to power something else such as a winch or maybe a pump.
Either the thermostat was not the problem, or you put it in backwards.
Yes, you could install it backwards. It definitely would not function correctly.
Shouldn't be able to. If the thermostat is put in backwards, thethermostat housing will interfere with the thermostat. When placed in properly, the housing with install easily.
Most likely the engine will overheat.
It will tell you it can not read the discc
follow the top radiator hose from the radiator to where it bolts to the motor, remove the 2 bolts holding the thermostat housing to the motor, remove the thermostat put in the new on and clean the old gasket sealer off the housing put new sealer and replace bolts
Maybe the headlight motor is wired backwards.
You cannot physically put a clutch disk in backwards unless you force it together. If you do this you will destroy the clutch disc and possibly other clutch components.
pcv valve wont work properly
follow the upper radiater hose to the top of the motor remove the housing and take out the thermostat be sure and remove all the gasket material clean and dry the housing and the area where the thermostat goes put on the new gasket and thermostat making sure not to put it in upside down good luck
