If you mean "unused" as in it scenes were filmed on it but not used in the final project, they would either probably be archived, thrown away or destroyed.
If you mean brand new, literal "unused" film, it would be saved until it was used.

∙ 12y agoThat depends on the condition, the movie itself, if its an original, and sometimes just how willing someone would be to buy an old movie reel. Theres no set prices on old stuff. Hence auctions, ebay, etc.
