A snail's shell contains its internal organs, such as its lung, reproductive organs and heart. Removing this will, of course, not be good for the snail. Take a closer look at the snail: if it's bleeding, it means it's dead. If it's not, it means its a slug.

Snails will die if they don't gave a shell. There is nothing you can do to save them. Slugs, sometimes confused with shell less snails, don't have visible shells.

Yes. They are called slugs. They arent snails, but basically the same thing. One with a shell, one without. (By the way, a snail is not a bug/insect. A snail is a mollusk.)

They are Invertebrates, which includes the phylum 'mollusk'. Snails, slugs and squid- along with animals such as octopus -belong to this mollusk phylum.
