Animal fat is a great source of Saturated Fat.

When you eat too much animal fat, the amount of saturated fat increases in the body, which in turn a high source of LDL (bad cholesterol).

The powers that be have proclaimed saturated fats a health hazard because about 60 years ago an overzealous scientist distorted data from some epidemiological studies in order to support his belief that higher serum cholesterol increased the risk for clogged arteries. The edible oils industry and vegetarian activists, for obvious reasons, have been promoting the idea ever since.
