An actress is female and an actor is male those are the differences between the two Actually, an "actor" is one who is significantly talented, and is either male or female. An actor can portray a character on stage, in films, or on television. An "actress", on the other hand, is a female who has very low acting ability, but nonetheless gets roles in those mediums. Usually her career is based on her looks and appeal, not any talent. A female actor is offended if called an "actress'. Unfortunately, there isn't a term for male stars with little to no talent. I'll just say this: Meryl Streep, Charlize Theron, and Helen Mirren are "actors". Jessica Alba, Megan Fox, and Eva Longoria are "actresses".
