If you are talking about the Depo Provera contraceptive (birth control) injection that you get every three months, it is not unusual for it to take several months, even up to a year or more, for your period to return after stopping the shot. However, once you are due for the shot, you MUST start using some form of birth control because, even though you may not have started your period again, you can still get pregnant.
It sounds like you need to do a few things. If you have been sexually active since the time you were due for the shot, then you need to confirm that you are not pregnant. If you want to go back on the shot, or any other form of Birth Control, then you need to schedule an appointment to get started on that again. They should do a pregnancy test before they give you the birth control. If you've decided that you want to get pregnant, then you still need to do the pregnancy test. If it is negative, then you just need to give it time. Again, it can take months to get your body straightened back out after being on the shot. It is not uncommon.
You may have lost a lot of weight

almost certainly you have been POST manopausal since you missed your period for 12 months in a row. Most likely at about age 50. Put another way; if you havent had a period in the last 12 months you are POST MENOPAUSAL
Because ovulating is a sign that you're about to start your period. I'm 13, I ovulate and I haven't gotten my period. Don't worry, it'll come soon. :D
Go to your doctor and tell them that you're worried that you havent had your period yet and it's been a month.
it's coming
It's common for periods to be light and widely spaced when you first start them. Don't worry about it. Its totally normal.
There is nothing wrong and you are not pregnant (if you have not been having intercourse). It is common for a female to not have regular periods until she is older. It may take a while before your period regulates and you have them monthly. Some girls will have one or two periods and not have a period for a year after they start their period.
There have been people who haven't had a period for six months and they weren't pregnant and started their period afterwards, but it would be best to take a pregnancy test if you haven't already done so.
A woman who stops Depo Provera may get a period immediately after stopping, or it may take up to 18 months. The average is 11 months. Take a pregnancy test if you may be at risk for pregnancy.
