Is it normal to have a 14-day menstrual cycle when it is normally a 28-day or 30-day cycle?

No! See a doctor immediately. I would love to know the verdict after you saw your doctor because I too had a 14 day cycle and was later diagnosed with a tumour on my pituitary gland called a prolactinoma. However I feel I still have something else because symptoms of a prolactinoma are light periods or lack of them altogether.........

To work out how many days are in your cycle, count the first day of your period as day 1. If your next period was to come on the 30th day after you start counting then you have a 29 day cycle because the 30th day is really now day 1 of your next cycle. As cycles can vary from month to month, you have yo work out what is your particular average number of days for a cycle over time.
NO... 28 days period means that from the day when the period is started start counting the days and as soon as the next cycle periods starts , count should tell 28..

What happens if Yasmin is taken backward?
You mean taking the "reminder" pills first then taking the active pills given we are talking about Yasmin 28day. Well I would say that you would not be totally protected against getting pregnant for the first 10+ days. simply because there are 7 days of inactive pills in each pack of Yasmin. They suggest that even once you start taking your Yasmim ( given they realize your going take it like an adult)you should not have unprotected sex for 3-5 days.. plus that fact that you just took your pills backwards. Most women get the inactive pills to simply keep the reminder of taking the pill everyday. If that isn't a problem for you. I guess you could worry about whether your protected... too much trouble if you ask me. Most people don't know that makers of birth control DO NOT TELL YOU.. they don't and won't guarantee that you wont get pregnant if you are over 200lbs. That is one thing most people don't know.
