Auschwitz was the biggest Nazi concentration camp and also the biggest death camp. (Estimated death toll 1.3 million according to the German Wikipedia article on Auschwitz). More than any other camp, it has come to epitomize the Holocaust and all the horrors of Nazism. Part of it is now a museum.

This is a confusing question. You must be saying What was the impact of Auschwitz on World War 2. The impact of it was that the Germans and Allied Forces quickly learned what had been going on in Auschwitz and how evil Adolf Hitler really was.

The Americans, Brits, Aussies, and Scots as well as men from other countries were appalled and sickened by the atrocities of the murders and the amount of Jews murdered there. They were amazed how many sick survivors there were at Auschwitz. Many soldiers claimed they finally truly understood why they had been fighting the war in Europe.
