It helped soldiers fight infection during the war. The wounds they would acquire would be life threatening if penicillin and various other anti biotics were not around. Even after the wound was cleaned the chance of infection spreading throughout the body was very high and killed many soldiers. Penicillin was very affective during the war and saved many lives.

While it became available late in the war, it was a godsend.

I just offered the view that it saved many, many lives. Twice as many die in WW2 but for its discovery. Can anyone offer verification of this statement ?

It did save many people but i was a little late because they tested on mice 8 mice were left those were the ones who took the penicillin also it influece the war nd affect d-day :D thnks i done new
