Answer

Instruments that measure current are called ammeters, and instruments that measure voltage are called voltmeters. An instrument that measures resistance is called an ohmmeter. Each of these functions can be combined into one instrument, called a multimeter.

An OHMmeter.
In a Turkish source, I found that resistance can be measured by a resistance meter.
One important measurement that can be made with a multimeter is a resistance measurement. Not only can these be made to check the accuracy of a resistor, or check it is functioning correctly, but resistance measurements can be required in many other scenarios as well. It may be to measure the resistance of an unknown conductor, or it may be to check for short circuits and open circuits. In fact there are many instances where measuring resistance is of great interest and importance. In all these cases a multimeter is an ideal piece of test equipment for measuring resistance
Simple resistance may be measured directly with a multimeter. A small voltage is impressed across the unknown resistor, and the current developed is measured. The result is presented directly as Ohms.
An ohmmeter.
Ohm meter (Usually part of a multimeter but may be stand alone especially in a laboratory)
A digital multimeter (DMM) will measure resistance, along with voltage, current and impedance.

Why pmmc instrument measure only ac not dc?

Permanent magnet moving coil instruments are used for measuring d.c. quantities only. This is so because for these instruments the torque is proportional to the operating quantity either voltage or current.

Why galvanometer are used in electronic instruments that measures low current and voltage?

The galvanometer is very sensitive.

What is an instrument transformer?

An 'instrument transformer' is a category of transformer used to supply measuring instruments or protective relays. There are two types of instrument transformer: a 'voltage transformer' (known as 'potential transformer' in North America), and a 'current transformer'. They are used with high-voltage systems, where it is hazardous to connect instruments directly to such systems.Voltage tranformers are used to reduce high-voltages down to a level that can be safely applied to voltmeters, or to the voltage-coils of wattmeters or energy meters, or to protective relays, while electrically-isolating those instruments (and personnel) from the high-voltage supply.Current tranformersare used to reduce high-voltage currents down to a level that can be safely applied to ammeters, or to the current-coils of wattmeters or energy meters, or to protective relays, while electrically-isolating those instrument (and personnel) from the high-voltage supply.

How does a current transformer work?

A current transformer is used in high voltage circuits where it is not possible to measure current directly. A CT is a step up transformer with only one turn in primary. There will be as many cores based on the purposes like metering, protection etc. The secondary of a CT should never be kept open circuited bcoz very high flux will be developed in the secondary and hence it may be damaged.

What are the functions of current transformers and the difference between current transformers and voltage transformers?

To sense the current flow across the current transformers and to monitor the current ratings. In current transformers no voltage variations occurs. but in voltage transformers it is mainly used to increase or decrease the voltage value.

What is the function of a summation current transformer?

Current transformers are used to measure electric currents. When current in a circuit is too high to directly apply to measuring instruments, a current transformer produces a reduced current accurately proportional to the current in the circuit, which can be conveniently connected to measuring and recording instruments.
